1. Who we are
AntiBet Alert is a personal self-control tool designed to help with access to gambling websites. Data is processed only on your device, except for the situations expressly described in sections 3 and 4.
2. Data we collect
Stored locally (SQLite, on the device)
- The domain of websites visited in supported browsers (Chrome, Samsung Internet, Firefox, Edge and others), for example
examplegamblingsite.com. Only the website address is recorded; page paths, parameters and other parts of the URL are not collected. - The date and time of each access.
- The page title, when available in the browser address bar.
- The name of the app opened, only to identify supported gambling apps. The app's content is not read.
- Intervention records: when an intervention screen is shown, the app records the domain, time and outcome, such as closing the site or temporarily blocking it.
Behavioral analysis data (encrypted SharedPreferences, on the device)
- Counts of access to gambling websites, by hour and day.
- The time of the last detected access to a gambling website.
- This data supports a risk score that adjusts intervention sensitivity. It is stored only on the device.
Retention: the data above is automatically deleted after 30 days, except for the time of the last detected access, used only to calculate days without gambling. That value remains in encrypted device preferences while the app is installed and is removed when the app is uninstalled.
What we do NOT collect
- Page or app content, including text, images and videos.
- Passwords, form data or text fields from any website or app.
- Messages, feeds, posts or activity within other apps.
- GPS location, camera, microphone or contacts.
- Biometric data, IMEI, phone number or hardware identifiers.
3. How data is used
- Email alerts to you: if enabled, the app sends the detected domain, time and risk analysis only to the email address you configure. It does not include page paths, parameters or the rest of the URL.
- Alerts to a support partner: if enabled, the app emails only the domain and time to the trusted person you choose. No other browsing information is shared.
- Safe Browsing check (optional): if enabled, the detected full URL is sent to the Google Safe Browsing API to check threat lists. This transmission is subject to the Google Privacy Policy. Results are cached locally for one hour.
- Security analysis: when a suspicious site is detected, the app may make direct technical connections to analyze its SSL certificate and HTTP redirect chain. No personal data is sent in these connections.
- Local behavioral analysis: access patterns are analyzed on the device to show more relevant interventions. No data is sent to external servers in this process.
4. Sharing with third parties
- We do not sell, rent or share your data with third parties for marketing, advertising or commercial purposes.
- Email provider (SMTP): when alerts or reports are sent, data passes through the SMTP server you configure, such as Gmail or Outlook. Your email provider's privacy policy applies.
- Google Safe Browsing: only when enabled by you, the detected URL is sent to Google for a security check, subject to the Google Privacy Policy.
- Google Play: if you install through Google Play, Google's installation and update policies apply. The app itself does not send data to Google beyond what the platform may collect under your device settings, such as crash reports.
5. Security
- Email credentials and sensitive settings are stored with AES-256-GCM encryption through AndroidX Security Crypto / EncryptedSharedPreferences.
- Behavioral data is stored in encrypted SharedPreferences in an isolated namespace.
- Cloud backup:
allowBackup="false"prevents app data from being included in automatic Google backups. - Code protection: release builds use R8/ProGuard obfuscation.
- Email transmissions use SSL/TLS, according to your provider's configuration.
- Network traffic: the app blocks unencrypted HTTP traffic with
usesCleartextTraffic="false".
6. Your choices and rights
You can view and manage your data directly in the app:
- Access: view statistics and browsing records in the app.
- Deletion: use Delete all data in Settings → Privacy to remove browsing records, behavioral data and intervention records. Uninstalling the app also removes locally stored data.
- Portability: reports sent by email can be saved by you. The developer does not maintain a centralized user database.
- Withdraw consent: use Settings → Privacy to individually revoke features. Email and Safe Browsing features are revoked immediately. Disabling the intervention takes effect after a one-hour reflection period, which can be cancelled during that period.
- Information and objection: all sharing is described in sections 3 and 4. Contact us using section 13 with questions or objections.
Brazilian users may also exercise the rights provided by the LGPD, Law No. 13,709/2018, Article 18. Users in other locations may have additional mandatory rights under applicable local law.
7. Legal basis and consent
- Processing is based on your consent, obtained through the granular consent screen shown during first use.
- Consent is granular: detection, interventions, personal email alerts, support-partner alerts and Safe Browsing can be managed separately.
- Detection of gambling websites is the only required item for the app's core protection. Without it, the Accessibility Service is automatically disabled.
- All other features are optional.
8. Protection against misuse
AntiBet Alert is a self-control tool intended for the person who owns the device. To prevent use as surveillance software:
- At first launch, the app asks whether you installed it voluntarily.
- If you state that you did not install it, the app directs you to uninstall it.
- The Accessibility Service is disabled if it was activated without recorded consent.
- A persistent visible notification is shown while the service runs, so the device owner can identify and disable monitoring at any time.
- After a device restart, the app reminds the user to manually reactivate monitoring. No browsing data is collected before that reactivation.
9. Prohibited uses
Use is personal and voluntary only. You may not install the app on another person's device without their knowledge and explicit consent, monitor or track another person's browsing without their permission, use it for surveillance, harassment or unlawful purposes, or attempt to bypass its anti-stalkerware safeguards.
10. Limitation of liability
- AntiBet Alert is an additional self-control tool, not a guarantee that every gambling website or access method will be detected or blocked.
- The detection system may create false positives or false negatives. Do not rely on the app as the sole basis for important decisions.
- The app does not guarantee delivery of email alerts, which depends on user configuration and the selected SMTP provider.
- The developer is not responsible for misuse of the app by third parties.
11. App permissions
- Internet and network state: email reports and alerts, optional Safe Browsing checks, and technical SSL/redirect analysis.
- Accessibility: reads the address shown in supported browser address bars and the name of the opened app to detect supported gambling domains and apps. It does not read passwords, page or app content, messages, feeds, form fields or typing.
- Notifications: show a persistent monitoring notification and immediate alerts.
- Foreground service: keeps monitoring active in the background with a visible notification.
- Boot completed: sends a reminder to manually reactivate monitoring after restart; monitoring does not start automatically after reboot.
- Display over other apps: shows the intervention over the browser when a gambling site is detected. It is not used for ads, touch capture or hidden actions.
- Full-screen intent: alternative to the overlay when overlay permission was not granted.
- Device administrator (optional): only when you voluntarily enable uninstall protection. It is used only to add steps before uninstalling and can be revoked in Android settings.
12. Changes to this policy
Material changes will be reflected on this page and, when applicable, in the app version. We recommend reviewing this policy periodically.
